Best buys by the beach!

PUBLISHED: 11:14 04 April 2016 | UPDATED: 11:14 04 April 2016

Shorefields is a small family run business located on the beach side of the beautiful sands of Morecambe Bay.

The family is keen on rare breeds and runs small flocks of Castlemilk Moorit and Llenwenog sheep as well as various breeds of poultry, a Shetland and a Welsh cross pony. All the produce they create is sold through a small shop and café on the family caravan park.

The family needed to diversify with the gradual decline of holidaymakers to the beach and so decided to combine their family farming backgrounds and passion for rare breeds into a smallholder supply business. This gradual transition and philosophy to try before you sell has led to a diverse range of products from market leaders such as Omlet, Brinsea, Eton, Kerbl and many more being offered via a small retail outlet and online. Visitors are welcome to come along and view products before they buy.

A spokesman said: “The range of products offered is constantly growing. Our website is primarily aimed at the poultry keeper, however we intend to expand it to cover the entire range of products we offer. We believe that having the experience of using the products we sell and being able to offer free, honest advice is key to the success of the business.”
