Country Smallholding at Royal Show

PUBLISHED: 13:28 03 July 2009 | UPDATED: 08:32 28 March 2014

JULY 3, 2009: Several leading Country Smallholding writers will be giving presentations or answering questions at a special interactive theatre in the smallholding area of this year’s Royal Show, which starts on Tuesday.

The magazine will be sponsoring the theatre and will also have a stand at the smallholding area, which is set to be a major attraction at the show.

Speakers will include CS writers Tim Tyne, who will answer questions on livestock, Victoria Roberts, answering questions on poultry, and Liz Shankland answering questions on pigs.

The event, organised by the Royal Agricultural Society of England, at Stoneleigh Park, Warwickshire, runs from Tuesday, July 7 to Friday, July 10.

Visitors will have the opportunity to enjoy countless activities, such as milking goats, watching pig agility, trying their hand at spinning sheep’s wool, learning about wormeries, and lots more.

A show spokesman said: “For both the experienced smallholder and those setting up, the show has an enormous amount to offer. This includes excellent advice and demonstrations on a host of topics.”

Country Smallholding editor Simon McEwan said: "If you are at the show, do call at our stand in the smallholding area. There will be a special magazine subscription offer for the show."
