APRIL 7, 2014: The Royal Welsh Spring Festival on May 17-18 is gearing up to be the number one event for smallholding, gardening and sustainable living - and Country Smallholding will be a media partner at the event.
Country Smallholding will have a stand in the South Glamorgan Exhibition Hall.
This year’s livestock schedule for the festival has already been sent out to thousands of smallholders and potential exhibitors and lists the usual full range of classes. Many new and exciting classes have been listed this year, including a BPA Young Pig of the Year round and a pair and group of three competitions in the pig section. Within the cattle section best pair classes have been introduced.
The society is also pleased to schedule back-to-back dairy goat shows, which will mean a full show on both Saturday and Sunday. Best presented pen awards will also be available in most sections with judges casting their eyes over all the exhibitors throughout the weekend to find the winners. Again, the festival will also hold a qualifying round for the Rare Breeds Survival Trust Young Shepherd of the Year contest.
