Help with humane slaughter

PUBLISHED: 15:02 29 January 2008 | UPDATED: 08:20 28 March 2014

JANUARY 24, 2008: With growing numbers of people keeping livestock in small numbers, the
Humane Slaughter Association has produced  a new booklet, ‘Caring to
the end - a guide to the humane dispatch of livestock for smallholders,
hobby farmers and those who keep farm animals as pets’.

The HSA is a registered charity that works for the welfare of farm animals during transport, at markets and at slaughter.

It says it is increasingly being asked for advice at what to do or what to expect when animals die or have to be put down.

The booklet costs £2.50 including post and handling. Send a cheque or postal order made out to the Humane Slaughter Association at  The Old School, Brewhouse Hill, Wheathampstead, Herts AL4 8AN.
